AZMTA Executive Board
Amelia Griner, MT-BC
Board Certified Music Therapist
Amelia Griner is a board-certified music therapist raising her five children in Mesa, AZ. Her university studies were conducted at Brigham Young University Idaho and Arizona State University. After completing a 6-month internship at The Center for Discovery in Harris, NY, she received her Bachelor's of Music degree in music therapy in 2005.
Amelia has over 9 years of clinical experience working with children and young adults with varying abilities. She has also enjoyed over 15 years of teaching private piano, violin, viola, voice and guitar lessons. Becoming a mother to her own children has given her greater understanding and empathy for those in caregiving roles.
Some of her favorite pastimes include playing viola with the Arizona Millenial Choirs and Orchestras, playing games with family, cooking healthful meals, exercising with yoga, and reading. Amelia has had the privilege of being a general member of the AZMTA since 2004. In February 2022 she joined the AZMTA board as president. In this role she hopes to foster increased communication and collaboration among the music therapists in Arizona so that they may feel a greater sense of community.
Autumn McClintock, MT-BC, NMT
Board Certified Music Therapist, Neurologic Music Therapist
Autumn McClintock is a Board Certified Music Therapist residing in Tempe, Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University's music therapy program in 2018. After graduating, she became certified in Neurologic Music Therapy and Habilitation, and received her board certification in 2019. She completed her music therapy internship with Mind-Full Music Therapy in Phoenix, AZ under the expertise of Debi Kret, MM, MT-BC, NMT.
Mind-Full provides school and community programs for autism, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injuries and special needs. Her nine years of professional work with children and adults with ASD, integration of NMT techniques, understanding of trauma, and ability to adapt on the go allow each client to feel empowered while meeting their goals.
Autumn is Filipinx American, and was raised in a military family in the Midwest. This unique upbringing allows her to have a personal understanding of the importance of heritage and cultural awareness, as well a sensitivity to trauma and PTSD within the family.
In August of 2020, Autumn announced the start of her own private practice, Open Air Music Therapy. OAMT holds sessions on site at Phoenix Conservatory of Music, which they are partnered with. Having her own practice allows her to integrate her expertise and culture into her work while being in direct relation to her community.
Outside of music, Autumn is a gardening enthusiast, and an adventurous foodie. She loves learning and can be found intensely staring at installations at the Phoenix Art Museum or plants at the Desert Botanical Garden.
Autumn joined the AZMTA board in September of 2021 as the vice president. She plans to integrate the cultural concept of kapwa (loosely translates: 'space, both, and human') into Arizona's music therapy scene. This creates opportunities in which music therapists can heal and grow together while understanding how their strengths add to the whole of our field, and are an important aspect of their communities.
Stephanie Geare, MT-BC
Board Certified Music Therapist
Beginning at a young age, Stephanie started with violin and has continued to lay the groundwork for a musical career. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Arizona State University in 2011 after an internship with a variety of children and adults with developmental delays. She continues to offer private music therapy to this population in addition to providing music therapy in the field of acute and residential mental health for over 5 years at Oasis Behavioral Health.
Stephanie received a certification in music education proficiency from the Center for Music and Young Children in 2015 and teaches Music Together as well. She is a mother to two and enjoys gardening and yoga in her spare time. She is thrilled to be working on the board of AZMTA as secretary and treasurer since January 2021 and connecting with the music therapy community.
Andrea Sciacca, MT-BC
Board Certified Music Therapist
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Andrea is a Board-Certified Music Therapist residing in Mesa, Arizona. Andrea began her musical career at a young age as a violinist, and received a Chancellor's Scholarship to the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she discovered the field of Music Therapy. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy in 2007, after completing an internship with a local Kansas school district. Andrea moved to the Phoenix metro in 2007 after graduating to accept a position working with a private therapy clinic.
Although Andrea has worked in settings with populations ranging from pediatric hematology/oncology patients to hospice, during her internship, she developed a special joy for working with the pediatric population (particularly children with autism). Her professional practice has centered around this population. Andrea has two school-aged children and enjoys needlework and cheering on Wisconsin sports teams in her spare time. She is looking forward to being a board member and promoting music therapy through Media Relations.
